Tavis L. Knighten founded the firm in July of 2006, after several years of working in the claims department of some of the largest automobile, general liability, and professional liability insurers. With his unique combination of legal training and work experience, Tavis has demonstrated that he can effectively investigate, litigate and more importantly, try various insurance defense, criminal defense, and civil litigation cases, to achieve excellent results for the firm's clients. Since founding the firm, Tavis has successfully tried numerous cases, which include both jury and non-jury trials. In addition to his experience as a trial attorney, Tavis is also a certified Mediator, and a registered Neutral with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution. Tavis has the requisite skills, knowledge, and training to effectively mediate all types of civil matters including cases involving auto accidents; slip and falls; bodily injuries; catastrophic injuries; wrongful death property damage; professional malpractice; medical malpractice; and contract disputes.

For all of the firm’s insurance defense client’s Tavis brings the added value of being able to provide adjuster training for CE credit through the Georgia Department of Insurance. Tavis has courses already written and approved for CE training, and has to ability to customize a training class for the particularized needs of any claims department. Tavis brings further value as he is one of the few insurance defense attorneys that speaks and writes fluent Spanish, which has helped him not only reach out and offer quality legal representation to the Latin American Community, but also to provide a quality legal defense without the added expense for interpreters and translations.
